Although I am young, and my experiences are limited, I think some of my various short rules for maximizing life to its fullest potential can help anyone in bettering their life.

“When the standards have been set,” Epictetus said, “the work of philosophy is just this, to examine and uphold the standards, but the work of a truly good person is in using those standards when they know them.”

  1. Embrace suffering as it is inevitable (the most important rule).
  2. Focus on what you can control.
  3. Learn to appreciate the benefits of nature.
  4. Do not expect.
  5. Purposefully put yourself through discomfort.
  6. It is done.
  7. To do wrong to one, is to do wrong to yourself.
  8. Pick up trash when you see it.
  9. Suppress overstimulation.
  10. Philosophical development is key.
  11. Drive > motivation.
  12. “One falls to ash first, another later: no difference.” — Marcus Aurelius
  13. Welcome criticism.
  14. Allow others to fulfill their interests.
  15. Be ready to emotionally detach yourself at any moment.
  16. Exercise.
  17. Learn as much as you can.
  18. Everyone has their own path.
  19. Question authority.
  20. Question tradition.
  21. Maintain at least one passive income.
  22. Utilize envy.
  23. Value time over money.
  24. Analyze your thoughts, actions, and beliefs.
  25. Analyze others thoughts, actions, and beliefs.
  26. Do not suffer imagined problems.
  27. Physical pain is only mental pain.
  28. It is your job to protect nature.
  29. Give.
  30. Social media is fake.
  31. All problems come from a source.
  32. You are in the “good times.”
  33. Invest in yourself.
  34. Success is not measured by money, luxuries, or possessions.
  35. Ask yourself: “Am I continuing the detrimental cycle?”
  36. Maintain an open mind.
  37. Advocate your beliefs, not others.
  38. Form your own beliefs.
  39. Ego is an enemy, not an ally.
  40. Technology is making us all addicts.
  41. Never let schooling get in the way of your education.
  42. Stay literal and to the point.
  43. Meditate.
  44. Stay honest, even the little lies are damaging you.
  45. Detox often.
  46. It will pass.
  47. Do not judge others.
  48. Prepare for life’s inevitable setbacks.
  49. Handle failure with indifference.
  50. Be.

My rules of life match well with stoicism so if this “spoke” to you in any way then consider checking out the world of stoicism.
